This has been announced on all Nintendo sites, that from August 12th the trade price of the 3DS will drop.

However, if like me, you purchased your 3DS before the price drop (before midnight on August 11th) and go on eShop atleast once then you'll become a 3DS Ambassador which means you'll get to download 10 free Nes games from September 1st (before they are made public for none abbassadors to buy) and 10 free Gameboy Advance games before the end of the year (which are not being made public).

So if you want a 3DS you can either:

Buy the 3DS before August 12th for the current price and get 20 free games.

or

Buy from August 12th and get the 3DS cheaper, but you will lose out on 20 free games.

...not bad considering we already got a free pokedex app, free Excite Bike 3D and also in September both 3DS and DSi users are getting Zelda Four Swords for free (so i'll have 23 free games by the end of the year... nice).

i saw one in Cex today for £60 and you get 2 games with it.

^^ That is a bargin, although who ever sold that to Cex might be regretting it come December.

^^ ...and there lies Nintendo's problem because due to their stupidity in calling it a 3DS and going on about 3D too much, people think it's a DSi that shows 3D pictures when infact it's alot more than that as it's near enough a hand held Wii and besides most turn the 3D off anyway, but you try telling a casual gamer who doesn't do research that the 3D is only a small part of it and that you can turn the 3D down/off and the response you get is “but the 3D is what it's all about and without the 3D it's just a DS”

Luckily Nintendo are starting to realise this as Mario Kart 3DS is getting renamed Mario Kart 7... now all they need to do is rename the whole hand held to something like Super-DS or DS Advance.

The Nintendo president has publically stated that he is taking a 50% pay cut... good man!! (if he does or not, thats a diffrent story)
