Entertainment Weekly reported earlier today that former WWE Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will be returning to WWE to host Tough Enough when the reality show returns to the USA Network on April 4th, 2011. The hope is that Austin’s starpower will help to deliver ratings. No doubt, this is a very interesting ratings ploy that you’d you they’d utilize on WWE RAW, where the ratings are needed. However, it seems WWE is insistent on making it a hit.

I've just read this on WWE.com

vince has seen how well reality tv has done over the past 10 years and just cant work out that he will never be able to make something that can draw like other shows.

X factor for a simple example, reality competition - based on music. if 2% of people who like music watch it, it is a sucsessful show.

tough enough based on wrestling would need 70% of people who watch wrestling to make it even worth the point for national tv.

it's always going to be a little snip off of wwe raw where you sometimes hear someone good might be there.

when they do the 3 hour raw specials, doesnt the hour that airs before its normal timeslot always do quite poorly compared to the other 2

i cant see this getting ratings comparable to raw in all honesty, if they wanted austin in a more prominent role on wwe tv, why not make him the raw gm

they want to try and boost tough enough ratings. i wouldhave seen if hbk wanted to be presenter/head coach
